Stephan Burkart, CIO at Implenia

The construction industry is one of the largest industries globally, but it needs to be faster in adopting digitalization. Implementing innovative solutions will fundamentally change how industry players manage their highly complex construction projects, leading to the smooth orchestration of the many stakeholders and the efficient exchange of technical information.

Implenia is a leading multinational and integrated construction and real estate services provider. With its INSPIRE project, Implenia demonstrates its claim of innovation: leadership has consistently aimed to improve collaboration with partners, customers, and employees. Business and technology consultancy BearingPoint supported Implenia in transitioning to common, lean, and standardized processes for all four divisions: Real Estate, Buildings, Civil Engineering, and Specialties.

Implenia expanded its IT organization and created a business organization specifically for INSPIRE, short for “Integrated New Solutions for Processes at Implenia Reaching Excellence,” making this extensive digital transformation possible. Furthermore, the new platform, based on SAP S/4 HANA and RiB’s construction software, meets all the predicates for a modern enterprise solution: cloud software, open architecture, mobile working, security, and the provision of harmonized and comparable data for the use of artificial intelligence, among other cutting-edge applications.

The integration of BIM into core processes, the possibility of further digitalization of core processes, and support for Implenia’s value assurance approach with priority given to strategically and financially attractive projects are other advantages of the new INSPIRE platform.

We are convinced by Implenia’s strategic foresight and the creation of digital competencies and solutions to optimize its competitiveness further and benefit its customers, partners, and employees.
